Hockey coaches do not need another lecture. They need a story they can take to the next practice, the kind that makes a kid braver, a bench smarter, and a coach want to open this site again tomorrow.
A smaller player. A playoff bench. A kid who said he was scared, and the one sentence that sent him over the boards into the best shift of his night. This is my story: baseball, hockey, construction job sites, three kids in sport, and a not-for-profit going into year ten.
Next chapters will stay useful and a little bit fun: how to raise a kid’s floor when they are not at their ceiling, what construction apprentices taught me about first-year players, and the drills and film habits that keep mistakes from turning into shutdowns.
